hello can anybody tell me the differences between ESH and ESH2 modules. perhabs you can give me a ref for a download thx kewitz

ESH FC modules support 1GB speeds and have a manual terminate FCAL switch.
ESH2 FC modules support 2GB speeds and are FCAL autoterminating.

hello esh1 and esh2 are both 2 gbits but esh2 does not need termination and is a newer version

From:
"ESH2 is the enhanced version of ESH modules. The ESH2 offers several improvements over the ESH including a next-generation ASIC chip, improved design and bug fixes, broadly available components for faster supply responsiveness, and a modular board design that allows one to flexibly switch between optical and copper.

ESH2 has the following different features which are not in ESH:

- ESH2 uses an optical SFP module to make it "optical".
- ONTAP: ESH2 requires ONTAP 6.4.4 or 6.5.1 and above. Note that ONTAP 6.5.0 is NOT supported.
- Compatibility Within Shelf: ESH2 is incompatible with ESH within the same shelf. A single shelf must either have 2 ESH modules or 2 ESH2 modules. Placing an ESH2 shelf and ESH shelf within the same loop is perfectly fine.
- Termination Switch: ESH2 is self-terminating and does not have a terminate switch.
- Platform Compatibility: ESH2 is fully compatible with FAS270; ESH is absolutely NOT compatible
