I'm trying to get my head around the difference between deduplication and incremental backups.what is benefits of deduplication toward incremental method?

Dedup is at the block level.
Incremental is at the file level.

Ideally dedup has it's own volume for data and index folders.
Incremental no additional resources needed.

dedup is great for some installations but for many incremental is a better fit.
