Hello All,

I'm planning on assembling a site survey kit in the near future. Cisco has had their site survey kits available for some time, which I've been investigating into. Presently Cisco offers two varieties of kits, an in-builiding kit and a buiding to building bridge kit. The models of the AP units for each are different, however I am wondering how fundementally different are they. The regular 350 AP (AIR-AP352) has three modes of operation, Root Access Point, Repeater, and Site Survey Client. The bridge model (AIR-BR350) has 5 modes of operation, Root Bridge and non-root bridge, along with the 3 modes supported by the standard AP. Has anyone had any experience with the use of the AIR-BR350 Bridge Access Point being used as a Root Access Point for internal use. I'm hoping that this mode does fuction as well as the AIR-AP352 unit's, and therefore lead my focus to purchase the Bridge Site Survey Kit as it can be used for both purposes.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Ruster

You are correct. We use the Cisco 350 Bridge as our Access Points and we have no problems with our network. We are a wireless ISP in Michigan. We currently use about 7 of the Cisco 350 Bridges in our network thusfar and they all work fine as a bridge or an AP.
