Hi,

I`m new to world of patch panels. I was reading around and would like to know the difference between different type of patch panels. How would I recognize a bix from a 110. One thing I did notice where I work, the little metal blades that strip the insulation off the wire are not aligned. One is closer to the top and the other is lower :

What kind of of tool do I need to properly install wires into patch panels of this type.

Thanks
anthony

The one you illustrated is bix; you need a bix blade for termination.

Harris/Dracon makes a "dually" blade that will terminate 110 and bix; it has a scisor on the end to cut off the wire end instead of the pointed chisel tip normally seen on 110 and 66 blades.
