Just turned up a new ISDN PRI with some DID's that start with zero. I have opened the dialplan so zero is a 1 digit extension and also 4 digit extensions. What else do I need to change? The telco is telling me my PBX is rejecting the calls??

Do a list trace tac and enter the TAC of the new PRI. Have the telco send a test call. By the way you DID assign a 4 digit extension for testing right?? Check the trace to ensure the telco information is correct. They have been wrong in the past. You migh come across the problem in the trace.

Hope this helps

Yeah..I setup two of the 0XXX extensions for testing , 1 was a DID station and the other was a VDN that pointed to an internal station.

Is the dialplan the only place I need to touch to allow the extensions??

Yeah I think that all you need. If not it would give you an error when you assigned the station and vdn.

Try the list trace tac and see what is happening

for testing purposes you could have the telco send you 5 digits and you can strip one of the digits at the trunk.

We also had some 0xxx DIDs but we didnt have 0XXX extensions we converted them to 4XXX extensions. You might try that at the trunk also.

Having said all that i seem to remember that either the definity or the VM had a problem with 0 extensions until a recent release.

Man, I can't believe that anyone would want DID's that start with 0. How about 9 whiel you are at it. I would never take those from my LEC. I would demand they give me what I want or I take my business elseware. Just my opinion anyway...

We have 1 DID that starts with zero - had it when before I came onboard and we used Centrex. Had to keep it when we switched to Avaya because it was a published number and to change it would have been more work and grief than it was worth.

Can't you just have them send DNIS digits of your choice instead of the DID starting with 0's?
