How do you setup a DID to go to an extension #?

Easiest way is to have the extension number of the phone match the digits being sent by the phone company.

For Analog DID trunks, you can also delete and add digits, so if the phone company is sending 200 through 299, but your extensions are 100 through 199, you can delete 1 digit and add the digit "1" to get them to match. This is global, so it will affect all DID's.

If you have a PRI, you have a limited number of routing tables, where you can specify the digits being received, and how to modify them, either on a global basis or a one-off pattern.

I have a range of 100 DID's and they match my extension #'s and they work fine. How do I program a main # that doesn't match the DID range?

You will make a routing table, specifying the number of digits the telco is sending, the actual digits they are sending, the number of digits to delete, and the digits to add.

For instance, I have a site with 2-digit extension numbers, the Receptionist is Ext. 10. The main number is (XXX) XXX-4700. When the number was ported to the PRI, the telco is sending the last 4 digits. So entry 0 expects 4 digits, matches 4700, deletes 4 digits, and adds the digits 10. This routes the call to Ext. 10.

Do a print of your PRI information, post it here, and some information on the number you are receiving and the extension you want to send it to.

Note, this is all for table ZERO, and it changes only 1 extension.

If you have multiple extensions (in a given range) it can be done a bit differently.
