Did you know that you can use DOS as a HTML editor or even an ASP editor? Just open up DOS and type edit and a editor will open. Type the code you need to build your page. Go to file/save as. Type the file name you want then .html, .htm, .asp...You can use DOS to create any kind of file.

Well that isn't DOS, it's the old Edit.exe utility from late DOS through Win9X and NT.

Hard to see the advantages over NotePad.

BTW - Upgrade to Win2K/WinXP if you are on Win9x yet. NotePad gets Edit|Go To... and Edit|Replace...

Also in all Windows versions be sure to install Script Debugger. Makes a handy web editor, but you'll want to create a shortcut. It normally installs as:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Script Debugger\msscrdbg.exe

Script Debugger is an MDI application (can open multiple files at once) and it color-codes ASP tags and HTML too! ;-)

And don't forget... it can be used to debug your ASP pages as well if properly installed on the server.
