I have been doing a lot of reading of old posts. This one I didn't get... The thread stated

Did you frigid start it when new? (989CLEAR) Several problems can creep in, especially line and ring problems if it isn't clean before programming.

Can someone please elaborate...

Thanks

Mark

The more I read the more I don't know.....

You should always default as to clear any problems that may be in the data base due to testing from the factory.

You should also default any voicemail, for sure the pc card.

Also from shipping and handling. Stray magnetic waves and static can cause artifacts in memory that can be seen as programed instructions if not forceably cleared out before programming. Just like a new hard drive from the factory, it needs to be formatted before use to clear any spurious data that might be left from manufacturing.
