*We are receiving 4 digits from the carrier
*All extensions are 4 digits that match numbers sent

we receive a RNA status when calling any DID #

*Do you have to point them each to a individual hunt group with the extension field matching the digits sent
ie (212) xxx-4000 ( hunt group extension being 4000)
them point that hunt group to an actual physical
phone ????? I know this has to be done for the main
number but do you have to do it for ALL phones ?

In the Definity and Merlin world all you have to do
is match DID digits with said extension plan unless
its a PRI where you can delete / insert numbers

*The T1 works fine for outbound
its defined as Both ways

The Carrier has double checked that they are sending 4 digits

The IP Office (IPO) uses the 'Incoming Call route' to route incoming calls.
The principal behind the configuration options is to match the incoming number supplied by the PTO company with an Extension User or Hunt Group.
This is achieved by adding the digits for the incoming number in the "incoming Number" field i.e. 214 4000
then using the destination options select either the Extension user or the Hunt group.
This makes the system totaly flexible so the external number can be diferent to the internal extension number plan.
If the PTO is supplying 4 digits then insert the four digit into the Incoming Number field.
If the supplied digits are 6 then use insert all 6.
I personally use all of the telephone number and let the IPO translate down.
