Under System Renumber, renumber the default Remote Access Code to match one of your DID's
Under Lines/Trunks Remote Access, set up a barrier code, then under SysProg assign that code
Then dial into the DID number, get answered and hear the stutter dial tone, enter the barrier code to get another stutter dial tone, and then *10 to get to the modem.
Keep the barrier code outward restricted to cover yourself from fraud.
TTTommy, that didn't workk at all, system would not accept any change to 889 (default remote access) number. This system is set up to custom 4 digit numbering, 4900-4967 current belong to in use ports.
Tried both 4999 (unused last # in DID group)and a programmed but unused analog card # and a digi card number. nuthin doin !
Even trie a 7000 number, I didn't try a 3 digit # but that wouldn't help anyway.
Did I do something wrong?
anyway thanks
jim
When renumbering the Remote Access number, the first thing the system does is show the current Remote Access number (889), you press return and then you can enter the new remote access number. Make sure that number is not in use elsewhere.
From the console renumbering remote access # shows 889, you have to backspace that # out & enter new #, did that, it won't accept my 4 digit #, when I hit enter after putting in the new # I get error tone & 889 reappears. No matter, this magix is being replaced within the week by a Definity guestworks. Avaya tech just wanted a fast way into magix to look at DS1 setup.
When the console shows 889, it is showing the current remote access number. Press enter and you will get to the next step, which is putting in your new number, then press return again.
Good to know, I'll try it net time I visit site.
We cut over the Definity today & didn't need into the Magix remote access, but I'm glad now I understand how, next time it comes up I wont feel incompetent !!
Thanks alot. I never would have pressed enter before backspacing the 889 out if left to my own thought processes.
Now I get to sent a tech to Definity classes, oh boy !!!$$$
Thanks again.

merlinman, the Magix is hangin on the wall, still turned on but all the trunks are cut to the definity in a different building now, no exts. connected to magix either anymore. Why?? you need one??
Very good post and reply guys! Here are my post, hope you can be very helpful too:
1. any way to incress the voice volume between a Magix TIE to a Definity G3 by Vsat analog lines? (the volume is too low and hard to hear, the Vsat tech can not do anything about the TIE lines volume. May be we can do someting about it on the Magix and/or G3 PBX?)
2. SPM password: on a Legend 6.0, we don't need to enter an OLD password to set a new one even the Legend manu said so.
However, on a Magix, and another Legend 4.0 they ask for an OLD password which we already "FORGOT", any way to figure out the OLD password or to default them to "craftr4" or?
3. Able to Renumber the Remote access number 889 to a DID or a 4 digits extensions number, but UNable to dial to them - also unable to dial the original 889 from any extensions. when dial, just got wrong number tone/sound.
1 - Stuck with volume as it is.
2 - Connect a PC directly to the admin port on the processor, and password not needed to get in.
3 - You can renumber the 889 to whatever you want, and access EXTERNALLY. You won't be able to dial the DISA extension from an extension off that particular Legend. On the inside the "extension" is " *10 ".
