Have a customer we just added a 0x16 module to and want to assign some unused DID's off his PRI to the new sets. I got the list of DID's from XO and confirmed with customer the "available DID's, but when I try to program to the new sets, they will not ring to the DN's assigned...only to receptionist?! I am a little new to PRI w/DID's, but haven't had this type of trouble with them in the past.

For instance... the DID's are XXX-X120 thru XXX-X199

If I want to reassign XXX-X191 from Ext. 165 to New Ext. 218, I would go and change Line 191 to Target, Public, Rec'd # = 218, Prime =218. Is this correct? I also tried making Line 191 private to 218, but it didn't work either. This is just an example, and I tried on a few different #'s and scenarios but cannot get it to ring thru to desired DN.

Is the Rec'd # something I have to notify the CO of that the ext. has changed? Do they have to program it in thier switch to match the MICS to pass thru PRI to correct extension or what else can I be missing?

Thanks guys! (And Norstar Girls!)

First off the target line number does not necessarily have anything to do with the DID you are working on. Look at each of the Target lines(145-272) and see what the received number for each one is and also what the prime set is and the condition of IF busy:
second, you need to make the rec'd # the number you receive from the telco ie:191
also look at the other stations that are working correctly and see if they have an appearance of the target line on them causing them to ring or if the target line is sending the call to the prime set causing it to ring(you want to continue using the same method that is already programmed on your system or you will get yourself confused later)

No you don't have to tell the telco anything about the DID's but (in the us) you are responsible for the unused DID's (in other words making sure that they don't rerturn re-order tone to the originator, give them to a recording or the attendent)
