Here is what I would like to do, and I'm asking can it be done and if so how would I go about it.

I have a range of 20 DID's that presently come in my local PRI and route to phones.

I would like to make it so when any of these 20 DID's are called, they get routed back out another PRI route in the switch.

Here is the purpose:
I presently have a piece of equipment that converts a PRI into multiple BRI circuits. Instead of getting another PRI from Bell (I cannot order BRI service at this location), I would like to use my existing PRI to take in the calls from the above 20 DID's and redirect them back out another PRI card in my Option61C to the PRI/BRI converter, and it will handle the calls from there.
Calls will also need to do the reverse and originate from the BRI's and be routed from the drop & insert PRI to the local PRI for outbound calls.

This can be done if the equipment you will be connecting to (channel bank??) will emulate a switch. The procedure is rather involved and there is actually more than one way to do it. Do you have your Nortel X11 software features guide and Networking Features manual? I can point you to some sections to read.

Yes the end PRI equipment can emulate a switch. It's a CTI server with PCI PRI/BRI cards. I also have both the X11 Software Features Guide (3 books) and the Networking Features manual (4 books).

Do I need any special software feature/networking options in my software load? If so, what would they be so that I could see that I have the needed options in the switch while I'm reading the sections your going to suggest. I would hate to get too far into this only to find out I need to purchase an option. I'll look at my PKG options per what you say I would need. My ISS is:

ISSUE 10+

I'm willing to bet that you have the necessary packages. Of course, you'll need 57 & 58 (BARS & NARS) plus 59 (Coordinated Dialing Plan) and 113 (Incoming Digit Conversion). Depending on how you want implement this, you may also need ACD packages 40 & 41. You'll want to read up on Incoming Digit Conversion, Digit Manipulation, Route Data Blocks, Route List Indexes, Distant Steering Codes and possibly Automatic Call Distribution. In the Networking Features- ESN Description manual, read the section on Coordinated Dialing Plan. In the X11 Input/Output Guide, look at the sections on LD 16 for IDC field in an RDB, LD 49 for IDC, LD 86 for RLB and DMI, and LD 87 for CDP.

Off the top of my head- one way to implement this would be to use IDC to re-direct your 20 DIDs to a 4-digit distant steering code. The distant steering code would be built to use an RLI that sends the call to the PRI running to the CTI server. Your CTI server needs to be able to accept the digits from the PBX and handle the call. As an example, outside caller dials 987-654-3210. In LD 49, you have a DCNO (digit conversion tree number) programmed to convert 3210 to 1000 (your distant steering code). Your distant steering code is programmed to use a route list index that sends the call to your PRI RDB that runs to the CTI server. The PBX outpulses 1000. Your CTI server receives the digits and processes the call accordingly. You don't have to send 1000 to the CTI server, however. You can use digit manipulation to send any digit string you want to the CTI server if necessary.

Don't get discouraged if it doens't work at first. You may need several trial and error iterations before you get everything programed correctly. Save prints of everything you change prior to making modifications. Also, trace all test calls in LD 80 to see how the calls are being routed. Of course, post back with supplemental questions as you work through this.

Thanks for the headstart/pointing me in the right direction freddog. I'll give her all she's got capt'n. I'll definitely post back with questions I might have while I'm trying to get this work.
