I got as far as enter new #, entered 425 [Enter] but it will not take. Is this because 425 is in use already? Do I have to renumber 425 to a new number first? (ie 440)

I would say it exists already. Go into Maintenance>port>station>enter 425>status> it will tell you the slot/port and logical ID.
