Hi Team, How do you assign a DID to a two digit ext?

Thanks for your help

Analog DID trunks, you can do a wholesale delete/add digits, which affects ALL extensions/DID numbers, or the best way is to renumber the extension to match the DID digits being sent.

E&M T1, no manipulation available, so make the extensions match the digits, or work with the telco to make the digits match the extensions.

PRI, you have 16 tables available to match a specific or partial string of incoming digits, and delete/add digits to route, and of course simply make the extensions match the digits.

See the FAQs for this forum for info on PRI routing tables.

One thing I always suggest is:

If the company has grown enough to require D-I-D, then they should move to 3 Digits. That makes things MUCH BETTER for a lot of reasons. First of those is the fact that you have a very limited amount of Extension Numbers available in the 2 Digit Dial Plan.
