How many DiD numbers from the lec can you have on a T1? What is the ratio?

8 DiDs to one port on the card?

Thanks All Phoneman2

WE currently have 4 T-1's, 2 each from 2 providers,,,
so 2 trunk groups w/ 2 t's in each...
we have over 100 DID's on each T-1...
I suppose the limit would really be, how high your call volume is....

but remember, DIDs are just "virtual" numbers. You are limited to the number of physical calls you can recieve on the T-1 simultaneously by the number of channels you have.

I have had 1000 numbers ring into one PRI. Just like Telnettech said, your only limitation is the amount of available channels on that PRI to accept the incoming calls.

The actual number of DIDs that can be pointed to a T1 isn't as important as the traffic calculation for your users. You can have an almost unlimited number of DIDs pointed to a T1, with the hard limitation of the number of channels for concurrent calls. If the people in your environment are heavy users, such as call centers, the ratio of trunks to users is about 2 to one to 3 to one. A more modest environment is 4 or 6 to one. 7 or 8 to one, is an environment with lighter use.
