Thought I would post this here as SBC and our local line provider keep pointing fingers at each other. First of all I will set this thread up with what the customer has. Bare with me I am an AVAYA communication technician, I know very little about Nortel/Norstar plus modular ICS phone systems. They are setup with the following. First cabinet is the Nortel Applications Module, Second cabinet is the Norstar Plus Modular ICS (Slot 1 OPEN, Slot 2 Combo, Slot 3 DS card), Third cabinet is a M12XO (slot 1 - DS, slot 2 - DID, slot 3 - DID)
Other information about this system that I wrote down is the Target line is L145.
Amphenol #1 has CO49-52 and CO57-60, this is connected to the M12XO carrier and has 4 DID's cross connected to CO 57-60.
Amphenol #5 has CO1-4 and CO25-28, this is connected to the middle cabinet and has CO3, CO4, and CO25-28 are cross connected.
I did testing with SBC on the phone. If I clip onto the 4 DID trunks at the 66 block and go off hook, my red led is on, switches to green, then back to red. They tell me this is the wink. I can then dial the last 4 digits of the main number here on site and get to the receptionist or whoever answers the phones.
Here is the main problem. If I dial their main number which is a DID and the receptionist answers, she is talking to me or puts me on hold, if another call comes in on that same DID # it rings busy. Now I have been told that if that is busy it should ring the second DID trunk but it doesn't. I just get a busy signal. This customer can only recieve one call at a time with their main published number. The local phone company tested the wiring, says its good. The line provider says they are not seeing a wink on the first 2 trunks. This has been happening for 4 weeks now!!! I went through this entire phone system with SBC, replaced both DID cards and still have the same problem. What is the problem here???? Has anyone ran into this before???? SBC tells me they are 98% sure it is a line provider issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What can I tell the line provider or what tests can I do to prove it's their problem?
