I ahve an IP Office 4.2.23 that I am needing to forward some DID numbers to a fax server. I need to send the routing digits to the modem after it answers. I can send the call to the server, but I need to pause for it to answer, then send the routing digits. I have not been able to figue out how to do this.

use a short code

S/c 2450
feature dial ext
number= HuntgroupNumberD2450

I am not sure what the 2450 is. How do I point the DID to it.

How can I get a DID to ring a hunt group, and then to the Auto Att.

He cannot read so pointing him to the answer of a question he already asked before seems pointless to me.

I'll am goodhearted today:
In the following example, when someone dials 5551234, the system dials 501, which is then rerouted to the fax server:

Attach the fax modem to extension 216

Configure extension 216 with Caller Display type = DTMFB

Create a Hunt Group 500 with extension 216 as a member.

Create a User, eg. Fax501 with an extension of 501 and set Forwarding Unconditional to 500

Create an Incoming Call Route to extension 501 where the Incoming Number is the user's required personal fax number. Repeat for each user's personal fax number.

Incoming Number: 5551234

Destination: 501 Fax 501

So basically you need a user for each individual fax number.

Call Avaya, costs only €400 per hour, you must buy at least five hours.
But then you can talk to a REAL expert....
Now that is what i call support.

Didn't it switch from DTMFB to DTMFF long ago?

I have a doc on my web site as well.

Intrigrant, thank you for your help, you could save the smug and smart ass tone though. Galexa the Doc you provided was excellent and no appearance of sarcasm antwhere . That is the way this forum is suppose to work. Thanks for all your help. Why is the IP Office so damn cumbersome?

Just to add a little if you use the short code method you dont need to change the ports. they stay defaulted. i like the code because i can route 100 faxes at a time and not have a user for each one.

I agree kwing although some of my clients prefer to see the names of the fax users in their config for their own piece of mind.

I do have a note on step 2 stating that you can skip the DTMFF setting for the short code method.
