I was trying to make a phone number go directly to her phone. I was able to get it working, but I have a feeling that it's not the best way because other users are configured differently. The phone's DN (let's call it yyyy) has a line assigned to it. I drill down to the target line config in the Universal Manager. I configure it like the other lines:
Received Number->Public Number = <last 4 digits of DID>
Trunk/Line Data->Prime Set = DN yyyy

At this point, when I dial the DID from my cell, it's going to the General mailbox. I try something different:
Trunk/Line Data->Line Type = "Private to yyyy"

When I dial the DID from my cell, it works as desired. This value was set to "Public" like the rest of the other phone that have DID's going to them. Also, the DN and the last 4 digits of the DID are equal, like the rest of the phones here. So, will what I did cause problems down the road? By making it private, will that affect the number of available lines on my T1?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

That'll work.

The reason it probably went to the Gen Del Mailbox when left as public, is possibly due to the fact that u probably didn't assign the target line to DN yyyy.

Did you make that DN yyyy (It would be better to use the real DN)Prime on the Target line?

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.
