I am contemplating getting an E1 line for TDA 600 to give DID feature to all extensions, and while searching for the right card for this I saw DID card that I think works with normal trunk lines? any one can shed light to this, what this card does and what it needs to work? and whether I need other than the E1 card itself to make DID work i.e should I persue the E1 line option? thanks!

Hello,

there are analog DID lines. These are different from regular POTS but are analog not digital.

Digital DID is T1 or E1 or PRI.

PRI and at least some T1 is 2-way DID meaning digits are sent on incoming calls.

I hope this helps

The analog DIDs are sent to you on normal trunks. The difference between the analog DIDs and normal analog trunks, is you will not be able to initiate dial tone on these DID lines, but when the number is called, it will ring and you can answer the call. Normal analog trunk cards can be used for these lines.

If it is within your budget, I think you are wanting the E1 digital trunk with the DID number group assigned to the E1. Then you can specify The DID routing using your target lines.
