DID calls going to fast busy on T1

I have a customer with a Merlin Legend 7.0
DID calls are failing approx 50% of the time; caller gets a pause then a fast busy.
This is only happening on one DID block. The original block of 100 DID numbers have worked perfectly from day one. The customer then ordered a second block of 40 and they have not worked right yet. The first block is a 7100-7199 block and the second, problem block is 1740-1759. We are expecting 3 digits, and not modifying them. As a test, we convinced BELL to send 4 digits which we looked for, and the problem was exactly the same.
The switch shows DID Interdigit Timeout errors.
Bell has been there and insists the digits are arriving correctly and our switch is sending the fast busy.
We have already the 100D card for test
Has anyone heard of this problem? I would appreciate any help you may have.

So you have extensions numbered in the 100's and 700's?

Since you stated that you have no problems with the 100 series numbers, the problem is with the carrier. If it was on the switch side, you would have the same problems on the 100 series extensions as well.

You are running through a T-1 one right? Are they one-way DID numbers or two-way? Are all the DID numbers associated with all the trunks or does each block have a seperate trunk group?

I'm having the same issues with a Magix at my Philly site. We have a partial T-1(12 two-way trunks). Incomming calls are met with a delay and then a fast busy. LEC says they can't duplicate problem so I conferenced them in when I called and received the same results. If the problem is with the Magix, is there a report the swich can generate?

there may be some signaling issues involved. Typically the settings are wink and wink. I have had to set some to wink and auto. You might try playing with this a bit.

If it is a T-1, not PRI, a wrong DID will go to the operator, but what it sounds like is the DID block is not pointed to you T-1, i.e., a Telco problem. Here's teh acid test: Get on the phone with the Telco selling you the DID boick, and have them "out-pulse" the appropriate digits that the DID's would do, 740 to 759. My guess is that the outpulsing will work, if so, they will see they need to reroute the DID's. If the outpulsing won't work, recheck your programming.
