Legend, MLM, When the DND is on and you call the DID number in it is busy, Instead of going into voicemail. If a call is transfered to the ext. it goes to voicemail fine.

Situation: Three operators, 415, 425, 440. When ext 415 (operators office) is out she puts DND on and call are primary covered at 425 (Back-up operater) when he is out, he puts DND on and ia covered by 440(security/front desk). The problem is 415 has a DID number which work until DND is turned on, then it is busy. I didn't try to see if the DID would go to voicemail if DND was off. Any suggestions?

Using WINSPM or SPM, I would do a print of EXTENSION INFORMATION for that Extension.

Once that is done, review it to see if they have an COVERAGE VMS OFF (*46) button programmed and what it's status is.

Or, you could just go over to the extension and check what lights are on and do an "INSPECT" on them.

Coverage VMS will prevent outside calls from going to Voice Mail.

the button is programmed on the phone and on. I haven't been back to the sight to turn it off and test. could there be any thing else that would cause this.

Nick, when you say:

"the button is programmed on the phone and on"

THAT IS THE PROBLEM ! ! !

Turn the button off, and your problem will be solved.

Let us know if it does not clear it up, but I am certain it will.

THANKS Did the trick. Thats one I'll never forget. There was one catch. It was programmed on a MLX 20LD, Button 26 per the report. I deleted the button in CTRL-PGM page 2. I went back to the phone & tried to find how to get to page 2, I couldn't find it any were, other than CTRL-PGM. How would this get there accidently?

All Merlin Sets are 34 Button sets from the very beginning of the product line back in 1983.

That hold over is still with us today.

Therefore, a 10 button set actually has 34 programmable buttons. The last 24, that you can not see are addressed as #01 thru #24.

Likewise, the 16 Button has a total of 34, the 28 and the 20 Button sets as well.

That being said, the feature on your 26th button would have been programmed to address #09. Then, if the user dialed "FEATURE 09", he would turn it on, but would not have a light showing it was on.
