Hi all,
I have two PRI OF 60 channels in one route connected to MDBC12SP9 for a call center purposes, The PTT send the number 8110000xx, where xx is a range between 00-99, my question is could I reserve one of the time slots (dedicated time slot) at this route to receive the number 811000001 to be a DID number for the general manager.
I have alreaday used NUTRI command and this works fine in low trafic (calls for 811000001 come directly to GM,bcz there are free channels), but in high traffic the 60 channels are always busy(high traffic on call center)so when I dial 811000001 I Receive busy tone... should I use ROSCI command ... Is there any advice

Hi Trond456

What kind of protocol do you use on your PRI?
Basically, you cannot dedicated one Time Solt of your route for only incoming call for one number; this facility can only be made by your operator.
Especially if you have hight traffic on your call center, there is no chance for the number 811000001 to have more right than the other calls.
One intersting thing is that you say that all channels on the route are busy; normally according to Erlang table, you should be able to handle 40.79 E with 60 channel at QoS of 0.1%
If you have 60 E, you must have 83 channel at QoS of 0.1%. This mean that you need an extra PRI to :
1/handle the traffic of your cal center
2/have a chance that a call to 811000001 reach the general manager

Hi

With ISDN protocol there is no chance to specify a time slot for a specific incoming call.
the operator present the call as they comes, alternatively on the number of PRI that you have, and starting from time slot 1 on each PRI and counting up.
Next there is a time slot negociation if the time slot request in the setup is about to be busy.
As you see, you need an extra PRI.

Thanks for the reply,,, we are already working to have a third E1.. thenk you

can u take one channel out of the route and add it to separate route?.. Then set up the routing of 01 to take this channel only? Obvious problem being that you loose one of your channels for regular calls... so i guess you would have to weight that one up on it's merits.. and how much the General Manager wants it?

Imho, it's possible with PTT friendly cooperation. You program dedicated route for the time slot or two for your General Manager, so no calls from another people route to it (to PTT), then PTT programs dedicated PBX for the time slot or two to route calls to 811000001 to this PBX.
