I'm using version 7. The problem I'm having is that I will create a report and it will work fine. However whenever I reopen it, it gives me the error message "Dictionary Not Found". What am I doing wrong?
I have a similar problem. I am using CR8, created my report using Crystal SQL Designer (I found this to be much easier than trying to get CR to perform a UNION) and connecting to a MSSQL 6.5 database. If I choose to proceed without a dictionary, the report retrieves and presents the data with no problems. Is it possible to have CR not call for a dictionary or is this absolutely required?
I'm not using a dictionary to create the report. I use Crystal SQL Designer to create the query. The query is nothing elaborate, just a couple formulas and parameter fields. The query excutes fine. The database I'm accessing is Centura SQLbase. What is odd is that some reports I create run with no problem while others will give me the message that the dictionary is not found. I have researched this problem on Seagate's site to no avail.
I have not seen this message, but I am pretty sure that Crystal is hitting something unexpected and is throwing the wrong message. There is no dictionary unless you created one. There is one article on Seagate's KB about Seagate Info also throwing this message . It occuredn when a Query file was moved, so this is probably something similar.
Any chance the reports have saved data, and are fooling you into thinking they are really running OK?
Can you refresh them from the design environment?
If so, can you verify the database?
Can you reset the location of the Query (even though it hasn't moved?).
