What does DICOM, X12, HL 7 mean?

Can anybody suggests wher can I get information on it?

Thankx in advance.

DICOM is medical imaging software

ANSI X12 is a data standard

And I am guessing that based on the two clues above that HL7 stands for Health Level Seven and appears to be a standard for medical information software.

So I am thinking that you are looking at a PM gig for a software development company that is going to develop a medical information software package based on the DICOM platform using the X12 data standard and the HL 7 information standard. Let me know how accurate these guesses are.

Good Luck,

Joe

DICOM is a protocol used to transmit medical images (x-rays, CT's, etc).

HL7 is a format that HIS/RIS systems use to exchange data between them.
