This is getting silly. Where oh where is my password saved in the registry for my dial-up connection.

I originally typed in the wrong password when setting up my internet connection, and no matter what I do it will not save the corrected password, but keeps returning the wrong one.

I've deleted account info and protected server keys in the registry but XP still seems to remember the wrong password.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Keith

Keith-

Click start, run, and type regedit.

Hit the F3 key on your keyboard to bring up the searh. Type the old (bad) password in the search field and click ok. When it finds the key, change it to the correct value by double clicking the key and changing it from the bad password to the new password.

If it finds nothing, I would suggest reinstalling the ISP software to fix this error.

I don't think those passwords are stored in the Registry.

If you have tried all the ideas in your original post...

I can only suggest you consider deleting the user account and reset it up and see if that works.

Keith, another thing you can do if it is not found in the registry, is search on for cain. It is a password cracking software that will allow you to change dial up password. It will all depend how hard your password is to crack, but that will also do the trick for you. Jason Wichman
