The dialog boxes will not drag and drop but instead stay locked in the top left corner. By dialog boxes I mean...
- File > New
- From the Layers palatte/window > add Blending Option (drop shadow etc).

These boxes hang tight to the left and won't let themselves be grabbed by the cursor and moved. This does not happen with the Filter Gallery or choosing a filter option that requires a dialog box like Blur > Gaussian Blur.

I have looked through the preferences and don't see anything there to check or uncheck. Where or how can I fix this? I've loaded this software twice on this computer and it behaves the same. The same version software is loaded on my personal computer and it does not lock the dialog boxes. Thanks for your reply...

On window menu/workspace, try reset pallette locations and see what happens. I use CS1 so your window menu might have other choices. If so, try somethin like default.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

I've never seen that behavior but have seen strange behavior when preferences get messed up.

Have you tried to reset preferences to factory settings.

While holding down [CTRL+Alt+Shift]
start PShop and
continue to hold down [CTRL+Alt+Shift]
until you see the message to reset the preferences.
respond Yes
