Dialog Box to open report

Can i have a user hit a button on a form this then opens a dialog box with a number of options based on a field in a table eg Field Name = Status, options are open - pending - closed. the user then selects one, say open, then hits a button that will open a report showing all the records that are open

Any help please CJB
