I have a laptop that is not connected to the network/ internet at this time. This machine was connected a couple of weeks ago.
For some strange reason, a dialog box pops up (not a pop-up ad) with a list of words as follows:
Yahoo
Kensington
cnet
cnn
mapquest
The above has a box around it. If I try to left or right click the box, it disappears. This list of items is in his Favorites, but the list keeps popping up for no reason and appears to freeze his machine. If you wait long enough, F5 will eventually refresh, but it's getting real annoying.
He's run everything from Norton SystemWords, to Spybot and found nothing. I noticed that Messenger is on his machine and it will be uninstalled.
Anybody have any ideas on how to get rid of this annoying box?
