Dialled Digits from Symposium/MLS?

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has a Nice solution integrated with Nortel Symposium/MLS and if so, do you get dialled digits for outbound calls?

We have a system with an 8.9 CLS and Symposium 4.2 and are having a problem with dialled number. According to the switch maintainer, what we are getting is CLI from the terminating equipment of the number dialled. This seems odd but it does look like that - 75% of the time we get nothing for dialled number and when we do get something it's not accurate e.g. if you dial 1413335834, the number we get from the switch is 1413335000 which could be the base number of someones DDI range and the number they use when presenting CLI.

I've checked our logs and there is no manipulation or dropping of data happening on the CLS. This is definitely what we're getting from the Switch. The switch maintainer has drawn a blank on this.

Anyone seen this before? Suggestions appreciated.

Many thanks,
David

We've had something similar with both 8.7 and 8.8 and Symposium 4.2/4.0.

The explanation we have had is that CTI link is sending the dialed digits in hexadecimal format. As this is not understood by the CLS it is disregarded.

This was determined by the switch and CLS engineer together.

Sorry this doesn't help, but at least you know you're not the only one!

Thanks DancingDave,

I know that the switch sends over the trunk reference in hex but when we do get dialled digits it appears to be decimal. Looking at the logs for the driver on the CLS, when I get dialled digits I get a decimal number and when I don't, I get 'EMPTY'.

Also, I always get dialled number for internal calls and this is a decimal number. This made me wonder if there was a setting on the switch which prevented me from getting dialled digits for external calls.

This would make sense as the problems have started whenever we have gone from a CDR feed to a CTI feed (whether it is Meridian or Symposium Link).

Moreover, the problem has been seen at 8.5, 8.7 and 8.8 and for NiceUNiverse/non-NiceUniverse sites.

We've had a recent upgrade, so the focus will be back on this issue. I'll let you know if it turns up anything

We are using 8.9 with network symposium and we also see intermittant results in the dialled digit row - sometimes there is something there sometimes not.....bit like the rest of nice.....

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.
