setup: calls come over 800 directed to local COT into MICS 5,answered by NAM-AA. Want to dial 4 digits (CDP)as if intercom number but route back out over PSTN to other Norstars.
I can get the call thru the MICS and back out fine when the call is answered BY A PERSON(instead of the AA),then transfered to the 4 digit number. The routing all works fine that way. I get the 'you have entered an invalid extenstion' message when dialing the same 4 digits through the AA. Have I missed something in the AA or is this not possible?

The easiest way to do it is to use the CCR tree and just tell the caller to dial a single digit to get to the external number you want.

ie., for the customer service department dial 1
1 would be an external transfer point to that office.
Or for sales dial 2, 2 being a sub menu saying, for John dial 1 for Mary dial 2. Each of those points being external transfer points to their cell phone numbers.... etc.

Something like that but from the main 0 home menu or the AA menu prompt the system is looking for an extension number only and you technically do not have those extension numbers. MRoberts

Thanks, but it's (and you've heard this before), "not what the customer wants"...he wants "seamless" calling from Milwalkee to Waukegan and Elmhurst in IL, without a pvt network. Champagne ideas, Milwalkee's Best budget.
thanks mel...

after writig that response I rec'd more info...he wants no ans calls to go back to the original Norstar...HE'S OUTTA HERE!!! wonder what's in his [pipe]??

ISDN + MCK would work.

Too much money?

Ooh yeah, that would work! MCK has got tons of VERY cool products that would work beautifully! Depending on how many people are in the office you could use the EXTender PBXgateway II.

I agree there are many $olution$. I believe sales is dealing with a young IT/IS guy w/lots of ideas and no budget. When he found out how much a private network would cost he freaked...then asked about using DID over PSTN, only he said, "that DID thing over regular lines"...[lol]
Oh well...moving forward!![wavey3]
