I am in a Key system and when I am in one line if some one calls in the other lines, I cannot see the caller ID information of the calls coming in. Is there any way for one to see that information or see a history information from MLX 16D or MLX20 phone in order to return missed calls without having to utilize *69? This is in a Magix R2 system.

Gladys, the phone's "memory" is on the switch, and to get at it you'd have to access a call accounting system. TipHelp@charter.net

I thought so but did not want to spend the money. I heard about this software named Tapid from Trisys which allows each user to query the switch for their own information. Supposely there is a server and client software that one can install on each user computer. Have any one use it? Any reviews?

Gladys, the output from the Magix is a serial port, and multiple users will not be able to tap into it per se unless there is some sort of network accessible serial device to do this. I've never seen it, but it would have to be something like that. TipHelp@charter.net

Yes. Sorry, I did not meant to say the switch. Apparently what it does it dumps it to a server and then the client query the server database through the client software.

Ah HA. That sounds like it would work. Probably some sort of database that is just network accessible. Will it be worth the cost? TipHelp@charter.net

Apparently is about $3K. One thing to say is that dialing a lot of *69 will get you there soon enough. So I guess it would depend on the size of the business and the type of needs that that business have. Apparently one good application would be giving the sales people a minimum amount of sales call that they must do every day. So say the company tells all sales that in order to get their commissions they have to do a minimum amount of 75 calls per day and certain amount of sales, so this means that the sales personnel would be really interested in tracking that they are meeting their goals, else they can stay at work a little bit later.
