Hello.. how do we dial out through the lines on a remote ip office (406v2 with vpn to another 406v2)? we are using 4.0. The goal is to eliminate the need for local dial tone on the remote site and have everything go through the main facility. I've already tried setting the dial shortcode to use the trunk group on the main site (from the remote site). Thanks for any help!

What I would do is set up your ARS to dial out thru your IP line. if your IP trunk is outgoing group ID 100 and if you dial 9 to get out it would look like this

1N;
Dial
91N
line 100.

You have to add the dialout code of the remote site into your ARS. so when it sends the call accross the IP line it sends the remote system the 9 and tells it that it is an outgoing call. be carefull for issues in the US with 911. you may want to keep 1 POTS line in each site for this purpose.
