Dialing out to show CLI 3

This is going to sound very strange, but I hope someone can help.
I have 14 offices each with 3 main numbers (Department 1,2,3)
Each has the rules setup to go to each department, and when each department calls out, it goes out as their department's CLI.
However I have the need for Department 1 to dial out as department 2. each phone has line a and line b
What I would like is to setup *91N t dial out as department B's CLI.
Can anyone help?

Would be a lot easier if you first told us how you've configured the sending of different CLIs for members of different departments as it will be an amendment to that?

Do you want department 1 to still be able to dial department 1's CLI as well (ie. pick the CLI they use at the time of dialing)?

Hi,
Sorry
What we have is under the users settings, the CLI info is in the SIP tab. (their departments cli)
It would be great if the users could select what cli to use when dialing out.

Look as 's' in the shortcode

Short codes

You will need to check with your provider is you can dial out as a different number. Probably OK if you own a block of DDIs.

What is your Solution? Aura or IPO? I need more explanation of what configuration you did for deps 1, 2, and 3. Does each dep have its own outgoing trunks?

OK, we have IP Office Server Edition, V11.
We set the Incoming call routes to the Groups, users are members of those Groups, at present the users SIP info is there department CLI.
So that shows inbound and standard outbound. but I need users in group 1 to be able to dial out as the CLI for Group 2.
All inbound calls come in on a SIP trunk (1 line with 40 SIP channels)

You should be able to give user shortcodes for people in group 1 that's say, 8N to dial with group 2 CID. The number would be NsiXXXXXXXXXX where the X's are the number of the outbound CID.
Unless they're always calling out with that number, then just make it a user 9N shortcode, assuming that's your ARS digit.

Caveat, what you have in your SIP URI may affect this, if its set to "use internal data" and that's why it's pulling the CID from the SIP tab, that may take preference. But the Nsi in the shortcode is a good place to start.

Quick question, what option would I choose from the Feature to test this? I have tried Dial Direct, but still shows the CLI from the user.

Have you verified your provider has given you control of outbound caller ID?
We have control over the outbound cli.
We have confirmed this by changing the ddi / sip number of a user to department 2 number, which then shows on the outbound call

Since you have a SIP trunk, you will need to configure a URI that is "Auto" instead of "Use Internal Data", then you will be able to set the outgoing CID through the ARS table, with NS1234567890. When you configure the URI, use the same Incoming Group, but a unique Outgoing Group, so the ARS can route through it. Use system or user short codes to use the appropriate ARS for the CID that you want to send, *91N and *92N would work, you could also set the user with 9N for their regular CID and *9N for their alternate CID.

TouchToneTommy nailed it with a more detailed description of what I said. "Use Internal Data" makes the SIP tab of the user override the Nsi number in the shortcode. And in the shortcode you don't need dial direct, just dial.
