When a system password is used to set Night Service and there are several extensions in the Night Service Group - you are required to "enter" the system password before you can make an external call. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the manuals about HOW to enter the system password - so you can make that external call. Avaya Pre-sales did not have the answer either. Does anyone know the sequence you have to go through to make an external call when you are a member of the Night Service Group. We have tried entering the system password as soon as you go off-hook - but just get a wave off. If you try to dial an outside number first - you get a wave off. I assume you need to press Feature xx and then enter the system password - but there is no information of what feature code to dial. Any help would be appreciated. There is no information about a "System Password" button either.

On a real partner system, with the handset in the cradle, before you even attempt to place a call, you would press the Hold button (MLS or Partner phone), then dial the system password, which would not even show on the display. Then you lift the handset to grab a line (or press a line and cause the speaker to come on) and are allowed to place one call and then you are restricted again.

Maybe it works the same way on the Partner Edition, but couldn't say for sure

Thanks TouchToneTommy. I had the same advice from Mike at Telquest, Int'l - and it worked like a charm! Interesting that Avaya left it out of all the BASIC version Telephone User Guides.
