Hi all,

We have an NEC 2000 connected to a Nortel CS1000 via NI2 PRI. We could not use QSIG because the hardware we had on hand for the NEC couldn't do it, and I wasn't allowed to spend any more money.

The PRI works great, we can send calls from the NEC to the Nortel and vice versa, EXCEPT when we try sending more than 4 digits. The Nortel is a "hub" switch, with all of our main trunks and routes that connect to the outside world.

We are trying to send calls longer than 4 digits from the NEC to the Nortel with no luck. Only the last 4 digits get sent, no matter how many digits are dialied.

I know I am sending the correct amount of digits from the NEC, and I have included a call trace showing the originating number dialed being 914143033142 but the terminating number dialed is just 3142:

What happens after delivery, have you looked at CDP? You don't want it CDP??

It dials the last 4 digits of the numbers sent, 3142, which happens to be an entry in our CDP for another location. We want to send the whole number, 914143033142, so it goes to UDP, sees the 9, and looks up the RLI in AC1. Then the call should go out our local PRIs to the CO.

Don't knowabout the nec, as you know, once the AC1 or AC2 is decided via 8 or 9 or whatever, its gone. It has done its job. I have inserted AC1s thru DMI to redirect out an RLI, but it was on Nortel systems.

that is because it is a did.. out the trunks, out the route, put them back in as tie.. the only diff between the two is on a did the length of the ldn determines the number of digits the nortel looks at.. if you only need 6 digit numbers from any of your did's then you can change the ldn to a 6 digit number... that one has burned me before.. the nec end can still be did..

Thanks for the info, guys. I will try changing them to tie, I thought I had problems doing this initially which is why we selected DID. But I didn't know about the msg trick. I'll give it a shot...but need to get some downtime to do it. Thanks again!

I've finally had some time to look at this, and was in the process of changing this T1 from DID to TIE, but the Nortel gives a me SCH0520 code at the CBCR prompt.

DGTP pri
ISDN YES
MODE pra
IFC ni2
CBCR no
SCH0520
CBCR

I'd prefer not to use CBC if possible, since I don't know much about it. Can this be done, or do I need to set CBC up for this to be a TIE T1?

If so, how do I do it? Thanks!
