Hello,

I am trying to have my users access their voicemail from other extensions or their cell phones...
The AVAYA guide I have says to call in, and when it gets to the voicemail greeting, to press 8. This should lead to a prompt for the pin.
Well, nothing happens.

In the Manager, it is set up to allow dialing in.

Any suggestions?
Thank you very much

Internally they can just dial *17. It will ask them for their mailbox number and then the security code.

Externally just set up an incoming call route for the number you want them to dial and have the destination be voicemail from the drop down list. This will give them the same prompt as internal users when they dial the number.

Oh, this is for Intuity mode, I am not sure if IP Office mode is different or not. If you are on IP Office mode I am sure someone else will chime in.

For IP Office mode
in the user short code put V followed by the CLI of the person you want to allow access to VM messges without a password.

eg
to allow access from mobile 07711 123456 for extn 200
put V07711123456 into the source numbers for extn 200.

If you are getting silence when you press 8, there is probbly something else wrong. Are you able to try to dial into the mailbox and monitor the VM server.

It should just work, but this is Avaya!!!

what version VM are you on???
