What have all of you used to get into a customer IPO remotely? I wish it was as easy as the intuity and definty days. I have been using gotomypc.com but I only have a license for 2 pc's? Anybody have any other thoughts or better use of remote access?

if the IPO is on an ISDN connection & you have an ISDN line then connection to the IPO is simple

either connect a spare IPO to your ISND & configure an internet service to connect to each site or use a TA & dialup networking from your pc

In default an IPO expects the following

User Name = RemoteManager
Password = thepword

it also expects the remote connection to be from the 192.168.99.0 subnet.

by default any data call should route to DialIn which will validate the userename & password as above.

This is why the manager prompts to chaneg the RemoteManager password

once you have a working connection, go to preferences in manager & set the IP address of your remote system
You can now open the confing & make changes in exactly the same way you would on site.

if you want a sample CFG for a HQ IPO to access multiple sites I can add one to my FTP Site.

IPGuru please give me a sample config if you would.

Thanks.

see my FTP server
FTP:ipguru.no-ip.info

in the IPoffice/samples directory you will find rasserver.cfg

this assumes that the host IPO your end is 192.168.0.10

3 remote sites

192.168.42.1
172.16.30.1
10.10.10.1

It makes use of NAT to ensure that the outbound connection appears to be from 192.168.99.1 & all systems have a RAS password of password

check services & IP routes to see the programming req.
