Hi,

We are installing a VoIP gateway from Quitum behind our PBX via a T1. The way we want callers to access this box is by dialing an access number such as digit 8. This would open the next available channel in the trunk group and automatically be given a 2nd dial tone from the Quintum so callers can dial a 4 digit extension that automatically routes calls to our remote office.

How do amninister such a function in the systems? I have added 8 to the dial plan as fac for the 1st digit, but am not sure if that is correct or not. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Actually if you're setting it up as a trunk group in the switch you would need to allow "dial access" in the trunk gruop and set the TAC to the digit you want them to dial. So you'd have to set 8 in the dialplan as a TAC, then set 8 as the TAC in the "cha trunk X".
