I have a customer who is looking for a solution to call out using their PC's.

The system is an old 8x24, analog trunks, with a StarTalk vm.

Any recommendations? (Besides the obvious...replace the system)

You'll need some type of CTE hardware. I don't know if they'll work with the 8X24s, I just never saw one.

I don't have a matrix handy, but a CTA is typically used for that. I don't remember what the revision cutoff is for those, though.

The CTA is only compatable back to DR-5 software. earlier than that there was a TelAdaptor (that is all I know about the TelAdapter, the name)

beyond that the CTA-100 comes with the Personal Call Manager that lets you integrate one PC to the phone system. You can expand that in Desktop Integration but I've only used it for single desktop.

its been so long ago but i remember some type of Norstar Console that was pc driven the recep could answer calls, tranfer, she could really do everything that a digital set could do but it may have been on an 0x32 like i said im going back 8 or 9 yrs.

Time to step into the 21st century and upgrade the phone system.

Yeah well,,,, You know how those old tigers are. lol
