Hi,

We have an IP Office 406 with 5410 handsets. We have account customers and in the contact directory we've added their account numbers before the name. Ideally, I like to dial the account number of a customer and it dial their telephone number. The account number is always 4 numbers long. So by dialing 1701 the system would automatically dial their telephone number.

Is this possible?

Nick.

Yes, but not using the directory..

Create a short code 1701, Dial, Number

Matt

just ensure that you do not have extensions that start with 170 or 17 otherwise the internal calls will take priority.
