Let's say I have three sites. Each are four digit extensions. Extensions overlap in each site, so we use 2-digit steering codes 85, 87, 88
Examples:
[ul]
[li]To call 1907 in the South Hospital, dial 87+1907[/li]
[li]To call 2448 in the Office Center, dial 85+2448[/li]
[li]To call 6789 in the North Hospital, dial 88+6789[/li]
[/ul]
Now I add an Avaya CM into the Office Center and little by little, I convert phones from Nortel to Avaya. I have a copper QSIG route between Avaya and Nortel
When I convert a Nortel phone to Avaya, I out and build the DN back as DSC. For example, 2448. When I am inside the Office Center, I can dial 2448 and it rings the Avaya phone.
From the Hospitals, I used to be able to dial 85-2448 to reach Gene ; but now that 2448 is no longer an extension but rather a DSC number, I cannot dial LSC 85 + DSC 2448 reach it any more.
What should we have done differently?
