I have a Cisco 827 DSL Modem / Router. Configuration instructions are here.

I have created my first access list for incoming traffic and I have applied it to the Dialer1 interface.

In my quest to learn about access lists, one individual suggested to apply the access list to the Ethernet0 interface while another suggested to apply the access list to the Dialer1 interface.

Can anyone explain the difference to me. Where should I REALLY be applying the access list for incoming traffic.
