Dial up user replication hanging

Our Company's CEO travels frequently. When he tries to replicate, replication begins but after approximately 10 minutes, it hangs.

I've changed the IDle time setting to 60 minutes then 120 minutes, but that doesn't seem to help. We've also changed it to only pull in 40 K and the header.

Can anyone help me solve this problem.
