When I dial into a main server using Mulitec 2834ZDX modem
attached to a Wyse terminal and using serial port, connection is established and commands are executed. If
phone connection drops, server does not terminate connection and I can not re-establish login. I.E .modem
keeps ringing without a connection. I have to kill the
process on the server to free-up tty 2A port.Any help
with troubleshooting will be appreciated. Server has identical modem and both modems work on the server when
I switched them.
thank you in advance

You may try to play with the hupcl and clocal parameters of the stty command.

Hope This Helps, PH.

What gettydef token? the baudrate token.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

I normally just copy the "0" token line from the gettydefs file and make a new token of "9". Change the BAUD rates to match the ZDX (make sure it's set to a fixed serial BAUD) and it should be ready to go.

Some of this could depend on how you have your RS232 cable configured.

I normally change the 1-2-3 to fixed rates , by pointing the tokens back to themselves amd use #2 at 9600 for all my machines. Seems to work better using the modem intended strings.
