Dial Up Access

I've just inherited two new switches, both Option 81's. I'm verifying the dialup info. The number works and the modem picks up, but I'm getting the prompt: "LAPM", not the normal LOGI prompt. I've never seem this one before. Anyone out there have an idea of what this means? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you are looking at the M1 & not password protection on the modem. LAPM doesn't appear as a prompt in the I/O NTP's. If you are on the M1, can you **** out?

Excellent thought on the modem password. I get no response to keystrokes at all. I didn't even consider a modem password. thanks, I'll check it out first thing.
