I have a payphone plugged into an analog port on the telephone system. I have a pool assigned to the extension with autoselect set to that pool button. When I pickup the phone there is dial tone. If I dial the number it asks me to put in the change. By the time I do that the phone system has already timed out and when the pay phone goes to dial the number it gets a busy signal. Is there any way to lengthen that timeout length?

Yes there is. Under "Options" I think, or "Tables", there is a place where there are timers. When you access this field it will ask you which timer 1-9. Select timer number 9. THis is your inter-digit timer. In ARS this is the amount of time the system waits until it has determined that you are finished dialing. In a PRI environment I always shorten this so my customers don't wait so long until there call is completed. Good luck.

Ok, I'll try that when I get to the office tomorrow.

I'm not concerned with the time it takes to send the call after dialing. I'm more concerned with the time the system waits before the first digit is dialed. Would this be inter-digit timer 1? Would increasing that timer cause any other adverse effects?
