I am in the process of setting up a BCM with a PRI. I noticed after setting up a route (001) to the PRI, and then a destination code (9) then when I dial 9 to get out, I don't hear another dialtone .... how can I make it do so .. it seems to be confusing the users as they (for some reason) are listening for it.

I can still make calls, say, 9 1 xxx xxx xxxx, but, no dialtone after getting out of the network ....

I'm not aware of any way to do that with PRI as the CO doesn't supply dialtone on PRI circuits.

This is supported in Norstar 6.1 MR2 and 7.0 MICS but to my knowledge not BCM.
The KSU will return intercom dial tone to caller to emulate dial tone after the destination code is dialed.

any other way around that? (using pools or access codes instead) I really have no reason for a destination code

Access codes don't work for PRI - it has to be destination codes/ call routing.

Unfortunately, I think you may be stuck here....

no biggie -- simply a training issue .... thanks everyone!

Hi Stephen

I do not know where you are in the world but unless you are using a UK protocol called DASS you can not get dial tone back .If you have DASS you can use access codes and line pools.

For what it's worth an excerpt from the MICS 7.0 I&M guide.
Like I said not supported in BCM:
Configuring the second dial tone table
Installer password required
This feature, introduced in the MICS 6.1 Maintenance
Release, provides dial tone for outgoing calls on any PRI line, based on the digits dialed. Digits dialed must match an entry in the second dial tone table to enable a second dial tone. Dial tone occurs on the line until another digit is dialed, a timeout occurs, or the user hangs up.
Up to 10 separate entries can be stored in the second dial tone table. The maximum digit length for each entry is four. Each entry must be unique and cannot conflict with:
• Internal DNs
• Hunt Group DNs
• DISA DNs
• Auto DNs
• Target line DNs
Programming the second dial tone table takes place in
Services under Routing Service/2nd Dial Tone.
1. Press SHOW. The display shows None defined.
2. Press ADD to enter a number from one to four digits long
or press BKSP to erase a digit.
3. Press OK to accept the number.
The display shows 2DT: <number>.
4. Press ADD to enter another number in the second dial tone table or press REMOVE to delete the current entry, then enter a new number.
5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 to assign up to 10 entries in the table.
