Sorry if this is a repeat question, but having no luck finding an answer. I currently do not have a "receptionist," (someone who can answer the phone if someone dials "0" when they are in the auto attendant). I was wondering if there was a way I could setup a calling group, and have the auto attendant transfer a caller to that group (which would ring all phones at one time). Any ideas on this?

Thank you in advance,
Brent

If you have a Magic R3, you can create an all-ring calling group and assign that either as the call answer service operator, or the dial 0/timeout extension.

On any other release, you can send the 0-out to one specific extension, and have primary coverage buttons on up to 8 other extensions. If you need to seperate 0-out calls from calls to the main extension, send them to a phantom adjunct and then do the primary coverage buttons.

Just out of curiousity... Where would I find a setting for "Ring Group?"

I used extension 10, and dialed *05 to find the release of my system, and what is says is:
LEGEND 7.0 v14.2

Not completely sure, but I am assuming that means I have release 7? And, if your posting is correct (meaning that I have to have release 3 or higher), then I should be able to create a ring group, right?

Thanks again for your help.

Nope......the Marlin Magix is the next generation Legend...Meaning a Magix R3 will equate to a Legend R13. The MAgix system is the next step up....but you could upgrade your software to move onto a Magix R3 with a upgrade card. You could probably find one on Ebay..they are good for unlimited upgrades.

Yet, to answer your question..it is under

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Well, that being the case... is there any way to hook up an anaolg ringer to extension 10 (which is not used by anyone)?

That way, if someone does "zero out" of voicemail, they would ring extension 10, but in return, ring 2 external ringer bells as well.

If hooking a bell up to extension 10 is not the answer, I am sure if I had an analog station card in my system, then I could hookup a ringer bell to one of those ports, and have it set as a phantom adjunct to extension 10, correct?

Currently, my system only has digital station cards. So, even if I wanted to use an anlog ringer of some kind, I would need to hook it up to a digital extension (like extension 10). Is that correct as well?

Thanks again.

Since you are running a Legend R7, it sounds like you have MLX telephone sets. So you could purchase a MFM (Multi Function Module) that would go into the bottom of the telephone set at Ext. 10 (or any other MLX extension). It gets it's own Adjunct extension number. You add a "Primary Coverage-I" button for Ext. 10 to the Adjunct, and the bell rings when Ext. 10 rings.

Or, get a Tip/Ring card and do the same thing programming-wise, but get additional analog ports for other devices.

YOu could also look into Viking Electronics. They have external ringers that you can splice into the speaker of the phone and mount the small horn they give you with it up in the ceiling. This way every time that phone rings, it will go over the speaker as well. It's very cheap. About $120.00.
