Ok i need a general overview of what our consultant did on our Routers dial peer config.

Here is the output.
Now i understand dial-peer 100,200,300,900 and 910. These are for outbound PSTN calls and emergency 911 calling.

My questions are:

1) on dial-peers 210,211,212,214 why is there no statements to forward to the CallManager to figure out when to send to the end deivce (phone)?

2) Dial-Peers 1570,1580,1571,1581 i have know idea what destination-pattern 57. and 58. is. We work off of a 4 digit-inter-dialling patter not 3.

3) Explain what he is accomplishing with the rest of the dial-peers.

Thanks,

Are you connected to a PBX?

nope no PBX onsite.
We only have CallManagers in another physical site.

We have a PRI on that router though if that helps any.

What about the other dial peers?

not sure not looking at your network but the obvious is that is routing those extension out via ip. What are the ip's too? Are they remote routers are CCM's?

Those are CallManagers. Ive done a Dial Report and cant find anything that matches it....

hmmmm

I'm guessing these are the analog ports on the back of the router:

dial-peer voice 1102 pots
service default
incoming called-number .
port 1/0/2

yes, they would be connected via fxo ports on the routers...

ok cool i think im getting this now.

One more question (see the two below dial-peers):

Question: In dial peer 1580 when a call comes that matches 58[1-9] it forwards it on the CCM.

But on dial peer 214 when 1090 is matched where does it go....now i know it goes to the CCM also but i was expecting a "session target ipv4:192.168.52.8" like dial-peer 1580.

dial-peer voice 1580 voip
preference 4
service default
destination-pattern 58.
session target ipv4:192.168.52.8
dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
no vad

dial-peer voice 214 pots
incoming called-number 1090
direct-inward-dial
