Greetings,

Where can I find a glossary of definitions that explain the characters and symbols used in gateway/voice router dial peers and CUCM route patterns?

Some are easy to understand, such as:

[2-9] = any digit between 2 and 9
XXXX = any digit

but the CLI commands are not easy to follow... For example: /^!@ etc...

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

That information is (among other places) found in one of the the Student Handbooks for the CVOICE course offered by Global Knowledge (among others). It's sufficiently cryptic that I wouldn't be able to tell you what all the variables are without looking at my student handbook.

There are also some books on CVOICE available from Amazon dot com. Unsure, but you might also find this info in the $9.99 (Amazon) CCNP Voice/CVoice quick reference guide (Kindle edition)

If you're going to be building dial peers and all the other errata that goes along with managing a gateway router, I would recommend either taking the course or burying your nose in one of the self-study guides.

Kindle editions may be fine for some, but I personally prefer having hard-copy so I can dog-ear pertinent pages and take a yellow highlighter to some of the more important passages.

Google "Voice translation rule regular expressions"

Example:

/\(9\)\([^10].*\)//\11408\2/

With that rule, an input string of 95551234 is output as 914085551234

Above example from CVOICE class student handbook Vol 2 (of 3)
